Introduction
This Service Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into between Iron Range Armory LLC ("Iron Range Armory," "we," "us," or "our"), a Minnesota limited liability company, and you ("Customer," "you," or "your") for gunsmithing and armorer services.
By engaging our services, submitting a firearm to us, or signing a service order, you agree to be bound by this Service Agreement, our Terms of Service, and our Privacy Policy.
This Agreement supplements our Terms of Service and provides specific terms for gunsmithing services.
1. Scope of Services
1.1 Services Offered
Iron Range Armory provides professional gunsmithing and armorer services for AR-platform rifles, including:
Custom Builds:

Complete rifle builds from customer-selected or recommended parts

Upper receiver builds and rebuilds
-
Lower receiver builds and rebuilds
-
Receiver truing and fitting
-
Barrel installation with headspace gauging
-
Gas system installation and tuning
-
Complete assembly with torque specifications
Inspections and Diagnostics:

Complete rifle inspections
-
GO/NO-GO headspace gauging
-
Bolt carrier group (BCG) inspection and testing
-
Gas system verification and alignment
-
Buffer system analysis
-
Feed ramp inspection
-
Muzzle device timing verification
-
Barrel condition assessment (including borescope when applicable)

Written diagnostic reports
Repairs and Maintenance:

BCG rebuilds and component replacement
-
Gas system corrections and adjustments
-
Barrel replacement
-
Trigger installation and adjustment
-
Buffer system repairs
-
Feed ramp polishing

Reliability troubleshooting and restoration

Component replacement and upgrades
Performance Tuning:

Mail-In Services:

Nationwide mail-in gunsmithing services

Same professional standards as local service

1.2 Services NOT Provided
We do not offer:

Welding or major metal fabrication
-
Custom machining beyond standard gunsmithing
-
Receiver engraving (can refer to specialists)
-
Services on firearms other than AR-platform rifles (limited)
-
Illegal modifications or work that violates federal/state law
-
NFA item manufacturing without proper ATF approval
-
Work on firearms we deem unsafe or improperly modified
2. Service Process
2.1 Consultation and Quote
Initial Consultation:

2.2 Authorization
Before Work Begins:

Customer must review and approve written quote

Customer must sign service order or provide written authorization

For custom builds: 50% deposit required before ordering parts or starting work
-
For mail-in services: Authorization via email is acceptable
Scope Changes:
-
If additional work is needed beyond quoted scope, we will:

Contact customer with findings
-
Provide cost estimate for additional work
-
Obtain approval before proceeding
-

Work will not exceed quoted price without customer approval
2.3 Firearm Receipt
When You Drop Off Your Firearm:

We will inspect firearm and document its condition

You will receive a claim ticket or receipt

We'll confirm contact information and expected timeline
-
You must provide proof of ownership if requested
For Mail-In Services:
-
Follow our shipping instructions carefully
-
Include service request form with complete contact information
-
Insure shipment for full firearm value
-
We will notify you upon receipt
2.4 Work Performance
During Service:
-
All work performed by certified armorers
-
Proper tools and torque specifications used
-
Critical measurements taken with precision gauges
-
GO/NO-GO headspace gauging on all barrel installations
-
Quality control checks throughout process
Communication:

We will update you on progress as needed
-
We'll contact you immediately if significant issues are discovered
-
You may contact us for status updates during business hours
2.5 Inspection and Testing
Before Completion:

Complete function check of all components
-
Verification of proper assembly and specifications
-
Test firing (when applicable and approved)
-
Final inspection and quality control
Documentation:

Written report of services performed
-
Photographs of key measurements or findings (for inspections)
-
Specifications and torque values used
-
Recommendations for maintenance or future service
2.6 Completion and Pickup
Notification:

We will contact you when work is complete

Pickup or shipping arrangements confirmed

Final invoice provided
Pickup Requirements:

Valid government-issued photo ID required

Claim ticket or receipt
-
Payment in full before release
-
We will review work performed and answer questions
For Mail-In Services:

Payment in full before return shipping

Insured shipping with adult signature required

Tracking number provided
3. Customer Responsibilities
3.1 Legal Compliance
You represent and warrant that:

You are legally permitted to own and possess the firearm(s)
-
The firearm is legally owned by you or you have owner's authorization
-
You will comply with all federal, state, and local firearms laws
-
You will not use our services for illegal purposes
-
All information provided to us is accurate and truthful
3.2 Firearm Condition

Provide accurate description of firearm condition and any issues
-
Disclose all previous modifications or damage
-
Ensure firearm is unloaded before drop-off or shipping
-
Include all necessary parts and accessories for service
3.3 Parts and Components
Customer-Supplied Parts:
-
Must be new or in serviceable condition
-
Must meet applicable specifications and safety standards
-
We reserve the right to refuse installation of substandard parts
-
Customer assumes risk for quality and compatibility of supplied parts
Iron Range Armory-Sourced Parts:
-
We will source quality parts from reputable manufacturers
-
Parts markup of 10-15% over retail price (covers ordering, inspection, warranty handling)
-
Parts subject to availability
-
Customer approval required before ordering expensive components
3.4 Communication
-
Provide accurate and current contact information
-
Respond promptly to our requests for information or approvals
-
Notify us immediately of any changes to contact information
-
Check email and voicemail regularly for project updates
3.5 Timely Pickup
-
Pick up firearm within 30 days of completion notification
-
Firearms not picked up within 30 days subject to $10/day storage fee
-
Firearms not claimed within 90 days may be considered abandoned (see Section 7)
4. Payment Terms
4.1 Pricing
Labor Rates:
-
Standard labor: $75-100 per hour depending on complexity

Pricing provided in written quote
-
Rush service available at premium rates (contact for pricing)
Parts:
-
Charged at our cost plus 10-15% markup
-
Customer-supplied parts: no markup
-
Expensive parts require deposit or prepayment
4.2 Payment Schedule
Inspections and Repairs:

Payment due in full upon completion
-
Firearm will not be released until payment received
Custom Builds:
-
50% deposit due before work begins
-
Deposit covers parts ordering and initial labor
-
Balance due upon completion before release
-
Deposits non-refundable once parts ordered or work commenced
Mail-In Services:
-
Payment due before return shipping
-
We accept payment via phone for remote customers
4.3 Accepted Payment Methods

Cash

Check (with valid ID; may hold firearm until check clears)

Credit/Debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express)
4.4 Declined or Incomplete Work
If you decline recommended repairs or additional work:

You are responsible for quoted inspection or diagnostic fees
-
We will reassemble firearm to safe, functional condition (if possible)
-
We are not responsible for pre-existing issues you decline to repair
-
Written documentation of declined services will be provided
4.5 Late Payment and Storage Fees
Late Pickup:

Grace period: 30 days from completion notification
-
After 30 days: $10 per day storage fee
-
Storage fees must be paid before firearm release
Abandoned Property:
-
Firearms unclaimed for 90+ days may be considered abandoned
-
We will provide written notice before disposal
-
See Section 7 for complete abandoned property policy
5. Warranties and Guarantees
5.1 Workmanship Warranty
Iron Range Armory provides a one (1) year warranty on workmanship from date of completion.
Coverage:

Defects in our assembly or installation
-
Failure resulting from improper torque specifications
-
Issues arising from our alignment or adjustment errors
-
Problems caused by our workmanship
Warranty Service:
-
We will repair or re-perform work at no charge
-
Customer responsible for shipping costs (mail-in services)
-
Warranty repair does not extend original warranty period
5.2 Warranty Exclusions
This warranty does NOT cover:
Normal Wear:
-
Wear and tear from normal use
-
Component degradation over time
-
Consumable parts (springs, gas rings, extractors, etc.)
Customer Factors:
-
Damage from accidents, drops, or misuse
-
Damage from improper cleaning or maintenance
-
Use of incorrect or overpressure ammunition
-
Failure to follow maintenance recommendations
Third-Party Work:
-
Modifications by others after our service
-
Damage from subsequent work by other gunsmiths
-
Parts installed by others
Parts Failures:
-
Component defects (covered by manufacturer warranty)
-
We do not extend or modify manufacturer warranties
-
We will assist with warranty claims when possible
Environmental Damage:
-
Rust, corrosion, or environmental degradation
-
Damage from improper storage
5.3 Limitation of Warranty
This warranty is:

Limited to repair or re-performance of defective work
-
Customer's exclusive remedy for workmanship defects
-
Not transferable to subsequent owners
To make a warranty claim:

Contact us within warranty period

Describe the issue in detail
-
Provide photos if possible
-
Return firearm for inspection (we'll determine if warranty applies)
5.4 Parts Warranties

Parts carry manufacturer's warranty only

Warranty terms vary by manufacturer

We do not extend or modify parts warranties
-
We will assist with warranty claims as a courtesy
6. Disclaimers and Limitations
6.1 No Guarantee of Performance
We do not guarantee:
-
Specific accuracy results (MOA, group size)
-
Elimination of all malfunctions (some issues are ammunition-related)
-
Compatibility with all accessories or ammunition
-
Specific aesthetic outcomes (finishes may vary)
We guarantee only:
-
Work performed to professional standards
-
Compliance with specifications and safety requirements
-
Proper assembly and torque specifications
-
GO/NO-GO headspace within acceptable limits
6.2 Inspection Limitations
Professional inspections identify:
-
Issues detectable with professional tools and techniques
-
Out-of-spec conditions measurable with gauges
-
Visible wear, damage, or defects
Inspections may NOT detect:
-
Internal defects not visible without destructive testing
-
Metallurgical flaws or heat treatment issues
-
Intermittent problems that don't appear during testing
-
Issues that only manifest under specific conditions
Inspection is not a guarantee that no problems exist—only that we found no issues using professional diagnostic methods.
6.3 Customer's Responsibility for Safe Use
YOU are responsible for:

Inspecting your firearm before each use
-
Following all manufacturer safety instructions
-
Using appropriate ammunition
-
Proper maintenance and cleaning
-
Safe handling, storage, and use
-
Complying with all firearms laws
Firearms are inherently dangerous. We cannot and do not warrant that any firearm is absolutely safe for any particular use.
6.4 Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY MINNESOTA LAW:
Our total liability for any claim related to our services shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
We are NOT liable for:

Consequential, incidental, special, or punitive damages
-
Personal injury or property damage from firearm use (except gross negligence or willful misconduct)
-
Loss of use, lost profits, or business interruption
-
Emotional distress or mental anguish
-
Damage to other property
-
Third-party claims arising from your use of the firearm
7. Abandoned Property
7.1 Definition
A firearm is considered potentially abandoned if:

Not claimed within 90 days of completion notification
-
Customer cannot be contacted at provided information
-
Customer explicitly abandons the firearm
7.2 Notice Requirements
Before disposing of abandoned property, we will:

Send written notice to last known address
-
Email notice if email address available
-
Allow 30 days from notice for customer to respond
-
Make reasonable efforts to contact customer
7.3 Disposal
After proper notice period, unclaimed firearms may be:
-
Sold in accordance with Minnesota law (Minn. Stat. § 609.5316)
-
Proceeds used to cover storage fees, service costs, and disposal expenses
-
Remaining proceeds (if any) held for customer for one year
-
Transferred to law enforcement if appropriate
7.4 Customer's Rights
You may reclaim your firearm at any time before disposal by:

Providing proper identification

Paying all outstanding service and storage fees
-
Confirming legal eligibility to possess firearms
8. Dispute Resolution
8.1 Informal Resolution
Before pursuing legal action, you agree to:

Allow us 30 days to attempt resolution

Participate in good-faith discussions to resolve the matter

8.2 Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by Minnesota law, without regard to conflict of law principles.
8.3 Jurisdiction and Venue
Any legal action must be brought in state or federal courts in Wadena County, Minnesota. You consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in these courts.
8.4 No Class Actions
You agree that disputes will be resolved individually, not as part of a class, consolidated, or representative action.
8.5 Attorneys' Fees
In any legal proceeding, the prevailing party may recover reasonable attorneys' fees and costs.
9. Liability and Indemnification
9.1 Your Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Iron Range Armory, its owners, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising from:

Your violation of this Agreement

Your violation of any law or regulation
-
Your use or misuse of your firearm after our service
-
Third-party claims arising from your actions
-
Provision of false or misleading information
9.2 Our Insurance
Iron Range Armory maintains general liability insurance for business operations. This does not extend coverage to customers for personal use of firearms.
10. Miscellaneous Provisions
10.1 Entire Agreement
This Service Agreement, together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, constitutes the entire agreement between you and Iron Range Armory regarding gunsmithing services.
10.2 Modifications
We may modify this Agreement at any time. Material changes will be communicated via:

Email to customers with active service orders

Notice on our Website
-
Updated "Last Updated" date
Continued use of our services after modifications constitutes acceptance.
10.3 Severability
If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, remaining provisions remain in full effect.
10.4 Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right does not constitute a waiver of that right or any other right.
10.5 Assignment
You may not assign this Agreement without our written consent. We may assign this Agreement in connection with a business sale or transfer.
10.6 Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including:

Natural disasters, fires, floods

Acts of terrorism or war
-
Government actions or regulations
-
Supply chain disruptions
-
Pandemics or public health emergencies
-
Strikes or labor disputes
10.7 Notices
All notices must be in writing and sent to:

10.8 Survival
Sections relating to payment, warranties, liability limitations, indemnification, and dispute resolution survive termination of this Agreement.
11. Safety and Compliance
11.1 Federal Firearms License Compliance
Iron Range Armory operates under a Type 07 Federal Firearms License (FFL) and complies with all ATF regulations, including:

Maintaining required records (27 CFR Part 478)

Reporting requirements

Proper handling and transfer procedures
-
Cooperation with ATF inspections
11.2 Minnesota Law Compliance
We comply with all Minnesota firearms statutes, including:

Minnesota Statutes Chapter 624 (Firearms and Dangerous Weapons)

Safe storage requirements (Minn. Stat. § 624.7132)

Transfer and background check requirements (where applicable)
11.3 Safety Standards
All work performed to:

Mil-spec standards (where applicable)

SAAMI specifications for firearms and ammunition
11.4 Your Safety Obligations
After receiving your firearm, you must:

Inspect it before use

Test fire in a safe environment

Verify zero and function
-
Follow all safety rules
-
Use appropriate ammunition
-
Maintain proper cleaning and maintenance
Four Fundamental Firearms Safety Rules:

Treat every firearm as if it's loaded

Never point at anything you're not willing to destroy

Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to fire

Know your target and what's beyond it
12. Customer Acknowledgments
By engaging our services, you acknowledge and agree that:

✓ You release Iron Range Armory from liability as described herein

You acknowledge all disclaimers and limitations

You accept responsibility for safe firearm use
